Key Benefits:

  • Safety and Security: Constructing permanent, brick and mortar homes shields vulnerable families from Afghanistan's freezing winters, blistering summer heat and devastating natural disasters like earthquakes. It provides a secure, lockable space where women and children are safe from external dangers night and day.
  • Stability for Children: Moving out of fragile, temporary tents and into a stable household completely changes a child's future. Constant displacement disrupts education, a permanent home provides the routine, quiet space and peace of mind that children need to stay healthy and focus on their education.
  • Dignity and Privacy: Living in overcrowded camp settings stripped families of their basic privacy. A purpose built home restores a sense of pride, allowing widowed mothers and families to live according to their cultural values with separate, private spaces to rest, cook and raise their children in absolute dignity.
  • Long Term Self Reliance: You cannot look for a job or plan for tomorrow when you do not know where you will sleep tonight. By securing a family's housing needs permanently, you take them out of survival mode, giving them the steady foundation they need to seek work, earn a living and actively contribute to their community.

How your donation helps the beneficiaries:

  • Each home rehouses a vulnerable family in permanent accommodation
  • Protects families from extreme weather and insecurity
  • Supports children’s development and education
  • Creates employment and stimulates the local economy
  • Breaks long term cycles of displacement and poverty

End Goal:

The ultimate goal of constructing a home in Afghanistan is to move a vulnerable family out of crisis mode and into complete self reliance. By transforming displaced families from aid dependent refugees into secure, permanent homeowners, you can help establish a stable environment where parents can work, children can stay in school, and generations can break the cycle of poverty for good.
